2015 saw the launch of the Lotus Elise S Cup 220, which was named the road-going version of the S Cup R race car. Using parts from a mix of fast Elises, it features sports suspension from the Club Racer, the Cup R’s single rear exit exhaust and some amazing aero, which comprises of a front splitter, winglets, barge boards, rear wing and diffuser.
The Cup variant of the Elise is arguably the most serious road-going version of the Elise ever! Producing a punchy 217bhp and 184lb ft the supercharged 1.8 lire four-cylinder engine propels it to 60mph in 4.2 seconds and will keep pulling to 140mph. Adding to the fantastic performance Lotus claims at 100mph the aero package on the cup car produces 66kg of downforce which is a staggering 61kg more than a standard Elise S and that difference increases to 117kg at top speed.
