www.selectinggear.com are very excited to offer for auction this beautiful and now very rare & collectable Lotus 340R.
Having covered a mere 15002 miles in its 19 years, this car is accompanied by a fantastic history file including the original bill of sale and comprehensive service history with the latest one being completed by B.S.C.S in March 2020.
First registered in December 2001 by London Lotus Centre, this amazing 340R spent the early part of its life residing in the UK before being moved to Hamburg, Germany in 2006 with its then owner for a short period. During its time in Europe the car was maintained by Lotus agents Limited Car Group who carried out some sympathetic and well thought out upgrades including an Emerald 3K ECU (190hp) Ultra close ratio gears and an aluminum radiator before being repatriated to the UK in 2008 where it was then setup and mapped by Sinclaire Motorsport with power run graph to show an indicated 191hp. At 9770 miles the engine was rebuilt utilising MGTF 160 bearings along with all new belts and gaskets.
Wearing its original Tecnomagnesium wheels and factory grey/black bodywork, this stunning limited edition car presents in lovely condition inside and out with only minor wear visible.
One of just 340 built, great condition *A zero compromise concept that made it through to production, interesting and unusual Built by Lotus in 2000 as the ultimate track-day car, the 340R is a special edition based on the Lotus Elise and uses the Elise’s bonded aluminium mid-engine chassis, basic running gear, and a 1.8litre Rover VHPF ‘K’ Series engine, 191 bhp. Performance was exceptional with 0-60mph in just over 4 seconds and 100mph arriving in 10.7 seconds. Just 340 were built sharing the same silver and black colour scheme and all were sold before manufacture. Despite looking like a dedicated track day special, a role at which it excels, it’s fully road legal and delivers a level of ride comfort totally unexpected in such a performance-focused car.
Viewing welcome at Hofmann’s Lotus.
