Ford’s decision to enter the Mustang in various competitions, including the SCCA Trans-Am series, marked a pivotal moment. This rare, right hand drive Mustang has significant provenance of its own, with multiple wins and podium finishes in ‘The Masters Series’ including an outright win at the prestigious Spa 6 Hour Endurance meeting driven by Phil Keen and Sean McInerney. Prior to this the car was prepared by renowned TVR racer Nigel Reuben for Mike Whitaker, who tasked Nigel to build the fastest Mustang on the Masters grid. This goal was achieved and the pair had a year of dominant success in the Masters Historic Pre-66 Touring cars. Latterly, the car was sold to James Thorpe who commissioned a complete rebuild with Alan Mann racing to include a fresh 440bhp engine by Steve Warrior. It comes with a current FIA Technical Passport valid until 31/12/2025 and would be a perfect entrant in the upcoming ‘Ken Miles Cup’, an all-Mustang race being held at the 81st Goodwood Member’s meeting in April 2024.
