The 997.2 is widely regarded as a high point for the water-cooled 911. Launched in 2008, it introduced direct fuel injection and Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, which gives lightning-quick shifts in Sport mode and smooth, relaxed progress in everyday driving. The Carrera 4S combines the 3.8-litre flat six with all-wheel drive through Porsche Traction Management. It has the muscular wide rear body and full-width rear light strip that set the four-wheel-drive cars apart.
With 385 PS, it reaches 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 183 mph. The all-wheel-drive traction makes it a genuine all-season open-top 911.
The car’s history is reassuring. There are seven services from Porsche Centre Leeds, 911 Sport, Porsche Centre Hull, Autofarm and Northway Porsche. Spark plugs were replaced in 2014, 2016 and 2022. The drive belt was replaced in 2016 and 2022. A combined intermediate and major service was carried out by Autofarm in April 2022. The most recent service was in January 2025 at 37,430 miles. The car has passed all fifteen of its MOT tests and will be supplied with a fresh MOT.
