The second generation of the very successful Bentley Continental GT was unveiled at the 2010 Paris motor show. Initially the second-generation car came as a W12 coupe then convertible. Following a very popular launch Bentley released the Speed and wow what a car.
Unveiled at the 2012 Goodwood Festival Speed show the Bentley Speed W12 had an increased engine power to 616 horsepower and 590lb ft of torque. Figures like this mean the 2 tonne monster is propelled to 60mph in 4 seconds and continues to pull all the way to 205mph. Bentley didn’t stop there, to ensure the Speed stayed on the road the ride height was lowered and chassis and suspension uprated.
The Bentley GT W12 Speed here at Hofmann’s is a 2016 “66 Plate” which has covered 9,800 miles.
