The Aston Martin Vantage was first introduced in 2005 to compete head to head against the Porsche 911. It was the second car to be built at Aston Martin’s purpose built Gaydon facility. This iconic car used the same technology as its “Big Brother” the DB9 and was built around an aluminum riveted and bonded VH (vertical-horizontal tub). This front/mid engine two-seat sports car was fitted initially with a V8 engine. This engine, coupled with a six speed gearbox and rear transaxle setup made for one of the most balanced cars on the market with a near 50/50 weight distribution.
The V12 6.0 Vantage was unveiled by Dr Urlich Bez in 2009 and featured the V12 engine from the DBS, which produced 510bhp. 2013 saw the launch of the Vantage S, which became Aston Martins fastest ever production model with a claimed top speed of 205mph. Its revised V12 6.0 litre engine produces 565 bhp, which propels the car from 0-60mph in just 4.0 Seconds.
