ABOUT THIS CAR

Hofmann’s are excited to offer for sale this truly iconic and beautiful series 3 Jaguar E Type 2+2 fixed head coupe V12.  EOG319K is finished in its original colour of Dark blue paintwork over grey leather and having undergone a full bare metal respray by Mick Hadley earlier in its life, along with a complete interior retrim by BAS International in 2011, this all makes for a very well presented example of this Grand Tourer.

Originally manufactured on 25thAugust 1971, the car was supplied to its original distributer, P J Evans of Birmingham on 10thSeptember the same year and subsequently first registered a week later. Since this it has been lovingly cherished by 6 keepers and covered only 29383 miles.

Initially this car bore the registration DON 1C and lived in the Edgebaston area until august 2000 when it transferred to Hull, here the car was cared for by two owners, and around this time took its age related plate before heading to Bath during a house move. In 2010 EOG319 K found its 5thowner, this time in Cwmbran, Wales where its resided until 2013 when it was purchased by the current owner here in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

Accompanying this amazing Jaguar is a history folder that can only be described as extensive outlining the more recent works carried out, included within this is invoices for the restoration, The Jaguar heritage Trust production record certificate, mechanical works & maintenance and The E Type Club magazine who featured and article on the car in April 2013.

The E-Type was initially designed and shown to the public as a rear-wheel drive grand tourer in two-seater coupé form (FHC or Fixed Head Coupé) and as a two-seater convertible roadster. A “2+2” four-seater version of the coupé, with a lengthened wheelbase, was released several years later. The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 L twelve cylinder Jaguar V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. The brand new V12 engine was originally developed for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was equipped with four Zenith carburettorsand was claimed to produce  272hp, more torque, and a 0-60 mph acceleration of less than 7 seconds, but this bhp figure was reduced later for production to 254bhp.
