ABOUT THIS CAR
Hofmann’s are delighted to market this very unique 1962 series 1 Jaguar E-Type. In 2002 this S1 E-Type underwent a Lynx in house restoration to a very high level.
Body: Completely restored in Gunmetal Grey with Red Interior.
Engine: Uprated 3.8L unit with Lynx large inlet valves, Lynx competition exhaust valves and Lynx fast road camshafts producing 265bhp at 5,500 rpm, triple SU carburettors with Lynx full radium ram pipes, LWE specification aluminium radiator, Automatic two-speed electric cooling fan, LWE specification header tank and base, Lynx sealed cooling system, Large bore stainless steel exhaust system with free flow polished ceramic coated manifolds, Lynx oil cooler kit, Lynx low oil pressure warning system, High capacity alternator, High torque lightweight starter motor and Lynx aluminium catch tank.
Clutch: Lynx specification uprated semi-competition unit
Gearbox: Borg Warner T5 five-speed close ratio unit with overdrive fifth
Differential: 3.54:1 Limited slip unit with aluminium finned cover
Suspension: Adjustable shock absorbers all round, Adjustable front upper fulcrum shafts, Uprated front torsion bars, Lynx adjustable torsion bar reaction plate, Lynx uprated rear springs with adjustable seat platforms, Lynx triangulated rear suspension system and Uprated rear anti-roll bar.
Brakes: 3 pot front calipers with thicker solid discs, Uprated rear calipers and discs, Lynx remote rear bleed nipple conversion, Lynx rear brake snail shell cooling ducts, Lynx rear brake cooling trumpets and Rear brake quick access panels.
